Mister serious here isn’t the most serious little guy I’ve met but he is one of the most polite. He is growing up to be a well mannered, fun loving guy. His parents are doing a great job with him. It was an honor to create his portrait in our Fort Mill, SC studio. He came in with his little sister to help create a special art piece I had in mind during this real kids portrait session.
She was all smiles for her portrait day. Also just as polite as her big brother and happy to try any pose or prop I suggested. Her outfit was so fun! Sequins and a big bow are great to accessorize and show off her personality without distracting or taking away from her sweet expressions.
Real Kids create Art in the Studio
The idea behind our art piece was to show off the fun of all the kids not just the Human kids! So we had to bring in the furry littlest sister for the portraits. She did such a great job for being so young and full of energy!
Just a few images from this fun #Real Kids studio portrait session!
Had a blast with these three kids creating some fun portraits for their parents and making an art piece for the home. Creating custom wall art pieces of your family to enjoy for years to come is the goal of our real kids portrait sessions! Having fun while creating them is one of the many reasons I love what I do. When the kids leave with smiles on their faces and talking about what fun they had then I know I’ve created a positive experience for the whole family! Portrait photography is supposed to be a fun time. Art is fun, call me today if you want a positive experience from your next photo day!
Oh man I just love simple classic black and white portraits like these. I could create stunning classic studio pregnancy portraits like these every single day. They never go out of style. They flatter all pregnancy shapes and sizes. And they are all about the relationship between mom and her unborn baby. No props no clutter no fuss. Just beautiful light and a beautiful momma to be.
I am still in awe every single time a pregnant woman walks in my studio. She is growing a person in her own body. That is an amazing, wondrous accomplishment I will never fully understand. Moms amaze me everyday they create, carry and bring into this world a new life.

Oh my sweet little Oliver. I remember this newborn session like it was yesterday. Nine days old is the perfect age for a newborn photography session because baby is getting real milk (if nursing) and not yet to the growth spurt day. Day ten is a growth spurt day and nursing moms may spend all day cluster feeding. (I probably blocked day ten from my memory on purpose) Oliver was nice and cozy this day. Just look at those gorgeous rosy cheeks and full red lips. I took a ton of photographs at this session but these three images are my absolute favorites. I couldn’t decide if the last image was better in black and white or color. Comment below if you have a preference.
The neutral tones and textures in this setup were just amazing. His dark hair was the perfect contrast to the light tones. Nine days postpartum was a good day for me. I had enough energy to actually set up a proper backdrop with beanbag for my sweet Oliver. My older son was away for the morning at summer camp and enjoying being with other kids his age. And my sweet baby slept peacefully for a good chunk of time. I love these images and I’m so glad I took the time to make them when my son was 9 days old. He has changed so much since those first few weeks and we can’t go back to that time but I can look at these photographs and remember when he was so tiny and new.
Sweet Skylar Rose I wanted to keep her she is just perfect. I prefer to photograph my newborn babies right around 5-11 days old and sweet Skylar rose did not disappoint. She slept like a newborn and ate like a newborn (every few minutes ;) her poor mom) Man she has the most perfect complexion and the sweetest baby fat rolls, yum. This right here (see photos below) is the reason we moms have more than one child. Those sweet kissable lips and the teeny tiny toes. The soft, adorable, innocence of the newborn stage. Wow I might just have baby fever today but I could just eat her up.
I cannot wait to see this sweet baby and her family again. Congratulations again to Skylar Rose’s parents and older siblings on their new bundle of joy. Remember if you are expecting and are interested in new baby portraits please call me before your baby arrives. This ensures we get your baby photographed in the early newborn stage (between 4-14 days old) because babies change a ton the first few weeks of life. And don’t forget we love to capture your pregnancy as well!
This is something I have been thinking about adding to my pregnancy portrait portfolio for a little while. First I had to find the right Mommy-to-be to want these type of poses. Not every women likes this style or even feels comfortable posing for a beautiful pregnancy photograph. Then I had to get the lighting and pose just right to bring these beautiful pregnancy photographs to my audience. Nude portraits have always been controversial and sharing them with the world can be risky. These beautiful pregnancy portraits are meant to be empowering to the mom. They give Moms-to-be the opportunity to show the world just what she can do with grace and beauty. Creating and caring for a precious new life is awe inspiring. I believe pregnancy should be portrayed in this way. I know I have said this before but I think all pregnant women are stunning. The beauty and strength demanded of the human body to carry a baby is the most precious miracle I can capture as a portrait artist. This avenue is something I wish to continue to grow and develop in my personal and professional photography. Thanks for letting me share my vision.
Oh baby Liam I was waiting for you to arrive with baited breath. I had a feeling you would be a beautiful baby boy and I was so right. This little one was a dream to work with. Thank you to his parents for working with my schedule and bringing him out to our little home studio.
It was obvious to me that little Liam will be loved and cherished by his family. And anyone who sees these family images can see it too. Congratulations to his mom and dad. He is such a beautiful baby boy. I cannot wait to see him grow over this next year.
My sweet three year old boy in his handmade vest. Doesn’t he look handsome for his 3 year old head shots? Grammy made the vest for him of course. And he just loves to wear anything made by Grammy! I have to do some more portraits of him soon since he got glasses a few weeks ago. I just couldn’t not post these for the Grandparents to see how handsome he is. Gosh I could just eat him up with a spoon. He certainly keeps things entertaining around here. He wanted to take pictures of me while I photographed him. Silly boy didn’t understand why I wouldn’t let him cover his face with a camera the whole time.
I was super impressed with this Momma to be again. With three kiddos at home and another on the way she has everything together. Man I wish I was that together but maybe in a few years ;) Miss B is just gorgeous don’t y’all think? Look at her perfect little belly. I just cannot wait to meet her little man due in December. B thanks again for coming out to the home studio for your maternity portraits. It was a pleasure to meet you and your adorable little ones.
I just love to photograph these beautiful maternity sessions. If your interested in having maternity portraits created give us a call during your second trimester or before so we can get you on the schedule before baby arrives. Remember babies have their own timelines and come when they are ready. Trust me I had my son at 35 weeks with no warning or preterm labor before his birth day. Wow what a surprise that was for a first time mom. This time I will be a little more prepared or at least a little less shocked. Look for my maternity portraits to start popping up here in a few more months. I so cannot wait to start taking selfies. That is the new term right? Gosh i’m getting old.
