Do you want a pause button for your fast growing kiddo? Many people think I offer portrait services, but what I’m really giving you is a window back in time. You see, when you buy a photograph from me you get to stop time for a second and take that memory with you forever, and that, my friend, is priceless.
These are just awesome for mom and daughter. Imagine in ten years how much these will mean to mom! Imagine what these will mean to this little one in a few years. She will look back at these and see how much mom loved her and how much she loved her mom as a toddler.
Simple, classic mom and daughter portraits like these are treasured memories when this little girl is an adult. Mom of course will cherish these forever. And on the tough days these portraits will bring her so much joy. And isn’t that why we take family portraits in the first place.
These fun themed first birthday sessions always turn out so adorable! I mean who doesn’t love a cute baby, a fancy pink outfit, pearls and a cake! It is truly a recipe for fun and over indulgence.
This little lady and I just happened to share a birthday so of course when her mom mentioned a birthday session I was super excited. I don’t need cake or presents for my birthday just bring your babies over to the studio and let me create a magical portrait session for them! That is the perfect birthday present for yours truly. ;) Continue reading “One Year Cake Smash Portraits Tega Cay, SC”
Patti is a local doula and she would love to talk to you if you are expecting or just curious about doula services. Below is a little about her history as a doula and her contact information is at the bottom. Also feel free to comment on this blog and she will be happy to answer your questions.
Patti Rumsey: Bio
I first got interested in being a doula after my second child’s birth in 1995. However, I didn’t start training until 6 years later and by then I had 3 children. The first being born in a birth center, second in a hospital, and the third and fourth at home. I was fortunate enough to land a job at Anderson Hospital in Anderson, SC where I worked for 3 years and attended over 300 births. This experience was one of the best times of my life. I went on to practice privately for a couple of years and had many enjoyable experiences.Continue reading “Meet Patti Rumsey a Fort Mill doula”
I’ve been curious about Doulas’ since before having kids. I’ll be honest the more I learn the more I wish I had hired one for my first pregnancy. Since I can’t go back in time I thought I would share with you ladies and help you find all the resources possible for your pregnancies. I recently meet Patti and asked her to guest write for my blog and help my clients learn more. So without more of my rambling here is what she shared. Continue reading “What is a Doula?”
Oh My Goodness, I totally loved this session. I mean I knew I would since I would get to catch up with a good friend from college. And get to see her newborn baby girl before any one else! One of the perks of being a newborn photographer, even in the winter I get to see all the babies first. But that is not why it will go down as one of my favorite portrait sessions from this year.
Why then you ask was I so stoked to photograph this adorable little one? Her mom brought in props. And not just any props. She brought in her wedding veil. Wedding veils are gorgeous of course and this one was no exception. But why was I hyperventilating over a veil. Because my friends props with meaning are the way to my heart strings. Your sweet innocent baby girl photographed on her momma’s wedding veil is going to become a treasured keepsake portrait for generations to come. It will mean just as much to this little girl in 30 years as it does to her momma right now.
As a memory keeper this kind of portrait makes my heart skip a beat. Knowing that she has an actual print of her favorite portrait of her baby in her wedding veil just makes my year. Knowing that print will last for 100 years and be viewed and shared with family. This my friends is why I encourage everyone to print their memories. Digital file storage devices have a shelf life of maybe 8 years before the device can corrupt or fail. Prints last a life time. Print your memories or come see me and let me create printed portrait memories for your family.
Oh my goodness we had such a good time during Ms N’s One Year session plus cake smash sort of. She is just such a cutie that I can’t hardly stand it. Those sweet curls and that big old smile. I couldn’t get over how much she had grown since her 9 month session. You just can’t be sad with Ms N in the house!
But you know when you get so excited about a plan for your little ones and then they have other plans? Oh yes all the moms know what I’m talking about! I was so looking forward to our cake smash at the end of her one year session. As it turns out Ms N is not a fan of cake. Who could have guessed? She wanted absolutely nothing to do with that pretty pink squishy frosting. And the cake she wasn’t even a bit curious about tasting that either. Even when we got her big sister in on the fun, nothing! She just wanted to go play with her cousins and the toys. And so we got big old crocodile tears, which I think are just part of the first year right. And super adorable, but not exactly what we had envisioned in our minds for her cake smash portrait session. Rolling with the whims of your littles is part of my job and when the littles are this cute, man I love this job. What’s your favorite from this session those sweet smiles or those sad yet adorable crocodile tears?
Sweet Little Lillian came to see me in my studio recently. I met her parents and big brother at our Christmas Card Mini Session back in the fall. This baby girl has such a sweet family.
Look at those sweet baby cheeks and her perfect little nose. Baby Girl Lillian was so much fun to photograph because she was so laid back. Aww man what a treat she was to have in my home portrait studio. I can’t wait to watch her grow up. I’m looking forward to getting her and her big brother in my studio together. Congratulations again to her mom and dad!
When I first found out this gorgeous family was moving away I was sad and very surprised. They had a sweet baby boy and they were moving so far away. You know I get kind of attached to my tiny babies. Something about holding a newborn when they are only a few days old makes you want to protect them and watch them grow. Then when I found out he was having a little sister so very far away I was down right depressed. Momma was a stunner with her first pregnancy. Fast forward a short time and I get a phone call out of the blue. This beautiful family is moving back. And the first thing mom did after landing back in the area was call me for a family portrait session.
I am honored and humbled to be the first call and to be chosen as their family photographer! I was so excited to catch up with them and meet their sweet baby girl. And that precious baby boy has grown into a handsome little guy who loves cars, tractors, throwing rocks and playing bashful.
We had a great outdoor portrait session.
Below are a few ideas for wall collections I created for their inspiration gallery. The family image in that simple cream frame is just classic. “Your family is a work of art. Frame it!” Which option from these genuine family portraits speaks to you?
Sweet Little Nina seems like you were born just yesterday. You are still a tiny little thing at 3 months old. Your older siblings and cousins will always be there too take care of you and they will teach you to be a strong little bird. You are now smiling and laughing and watching your big sister like she is the most amazing thing in the world. I look forward to watching you grow and mature in front of my very eyes. Being your aunt is a privilege I hold most dear. Next time we meet in the studio you will be sitting up and taking in the world from a whole new perspective. The world is your oyster sweet miss Nina and I cannot wait to see what new tricks you have in store for our next milestone portrait session.
